 漢堡戰記 （又名：U3 攻略）- Der Hamburger Dom 

此系列只會推薦沿途發現的好地方，並不會整理路線，或是推介必去景點。

談到漢堡，除了碼頭、獅子王、海鮮外，還有遊樂園～～第一炮先來介紹在漢堡市中心，面積約十六萬平方米的狂歡嘉年華：Der Hamburger Dom。
 

此嘉年華最早可追溯至十一世紀。早期只會在聖誕節等特別節日舉行，後來擴大規模至每年三次，每次歷時一個月的盛大活動。光是2014年，便有約一千萬的遊客到訪。更妙的是，每個時節都有相應的名字：

春季：Das Frühlingsfest（中譯：春日節），三月中至四月中

夏季：Das Hummelfest（中譯：熊蜂節），七月底至八月底 

冬季：Der Dom-Markt（中譯：教堂市集）十一月初至十二月初 

步出 U3 St. Pauli 或 Feldstraße，便會立即從各式各樣機動遊戲散發出的炫目燈光吸引。從老少咸宜的冒險屋、旋轉木馬、摩天輪，到精采剌激的過山車、洗衣機、跳樓機都不一而足。四周還有不少投擲攤位，以及爆米花、棉花糖、炸冬甩和烤香腸，挑戰各人的忍耐力。每周五晚上，更會有煙花表演。

若要跟慕尼黑的十月啤酒節比較，漢堡的狂歡節較老少咸宜。不同於啤酒節三五成群，隨著熱鬧的音樂喝得醉醺醺；在嘉年華不時可以看到一家大小，推著嬰兒手推車遊玩，或是幾位青少年在一角討論，如何靈活運用手上的零錢。

雖然你也可以在嘉年華狂灌啤酒，但最佳的參與方式，是釋放你內心那個四歲小孩，四處奔走歡呼；嘴裏塞滿零嘴的同時，眼裡已盯著下一個目標。

Der Hamburger Dom - A Carnival you could enjoy in the downtown  

These series of articles are not going to recommend any “MUST GO” sightseeing points or route you could not missed, but to share some interesting places we have visited in Hamburg.

What will pop up in your mind when talking about Hamburg? Harbour? The Lion King Musical? Seafood? Now one new vocabulary could be added: Der Hamburger Dom (English: The Hamburger Dom).

   

The Hamburger Dom is the biggest Festival in the Northern Germany. It located in the downtown on a 16,000m2 site. In 2014, there were around 1 million visitors from all over the world. 

The history of the Carnival could be traced back to the 11th century. In the early period of time, it served only in the special events like Christmas. But now it enlarges the scale to three times a year, each lasts one month. Additionally, each section has its name representatively:

Spring: Das Frühlingsfest (English: The Spring Festival, Mid-March to Mid-April
Summer: Das Hummelfest (English: The Bumblebee Festival), late-July til late-August   

Winter: Der Dom-Markt (English: The Church Market), early November to early December

Visitors could travel with the U3 subway and take off from the station St. Pauli or Feldstraße. Once step on the ground, you would be attracted immediately by the colourful lighting from various facilities: from the kid friendly facilities like Carousels, Ferris Wheel and Bumper Cars, to the challenging roller coaster, Drop Tube and Pirate Ship. You would almost find everything you could imagine in a carnival. There will be also a fireworks performance on every Friday evening. 

Comparing with the Oktoberfest in Munich, The Hamburger Dom is more like a family event. It is not only a place for a group of people gathering to get drunk (which is so~ enjoyable, I have to admit), but a festival for all ages. It is not difficult to see visitors with babies in strollers, grannies with sticks or a group of teenagers discussing in the corner, how to use their pocket money more efficiently. 

Even though you could still absorb alcohol in the carnival, the best way to participate this festival is to release the 4-year old in your mind, running joyfully in the carnival and dig into all the unhealthy but super delicious snacks you could see on the way. And try not to throw up, but scream when you are in any facilities.   

There is no entrance fee in the carnival, however, every facility require a fee of charge.
